A Freezepoint can be characterized based on the source of its content. There are four possible sources, defined by how they are generated.

Manual Scope

Formexit Generate on the Option Explorer and Selection Explorer screens is available only for Freezepoints that are not bound to a Project, Task View, or Import scope. Using form exit Generate from either Explorer screen opens the Freezepoint Generation Scoping screen:

Here, you can specify the environment or path code to generate the Freezepoint from, choose which version types to include in the scope, and create wildcard-enabled include or exclude lists for version or object names.

Project Scope

Using row exit Freezepoint from the OMW Projects tab of the Version Workbench main screen presents two sequential dialogs in which you specify the source environment for the Processing Options and the source path code for the Data Selection and Data Sequencing. After these dialogs, a pop-up screen reports the number of versions for which it is about to generate Freezepoints, and you can confirm the generation by clicking the specified link. After generation is finished, the same pop-up screen will look like this:

Generation complete dialogue

The generated Freezepoint name is copied to the clipboard for use when opening the desired Freezepoint (Processing Options or Data Selection) in one of the Explorer screens.

Taskview Scope

Using the row exit Freezepoint from the Taskviews tab of the Version Workbench main screen does not display dialogs for selecting the source environment and path code, because the source environment shown on the Taskviews tab is used for that purpose. The following pop-up screen reports the number of versions for which it will generate Freezepoints if you confirm the generation by clicking the specified link:

After generation is finished this same popup screen will look like this:

The generated Freezepoint name is copied to the clipboard so you can open the Freezepoint you want (Processing Options or Data Selection) in one of the Explorer screens.
