A Template contains a tag-by-tag mapping from an XML invoice to JDEdwards tables and fields.

X-References translate external values from the XML into JDE values when no direct mapping exists. A typical use is determining the correct JDE company based on the Chamber of Commerce number in a multi-company environment.

Composites enable complex automatic mappings by looking up data in JDE tables. A value from the XML or from an already populated header or detail attribute is matched against a table field, and a target value is returned, such as finding the supplier’s address book number by its VAT number. Multiple rules can be defined per attribute, evaluated in sequence until one succeeds. Supporting options include XML attribute (parameter) values, case conversion, a range of comparison operators (equal, greater than, in list, like and others), and sort order to pick the first or last match.
Composite Keys extend lookups with additional criteria when a single input isn’t unique, for example combining the VAT number with search type “V” so only supplier records are returned.
